Natural Gas Solenoid
In order to assess the effect of encapsulation with thermally conductive materials, a set of natural gas solenoids was encapsulated with both Rynite, a standard thermoplastic polyester resin, and with Konduit, a thermally conductive thermoplastic.

The demonstrated results are within the typical thermal rise reduction of 8 to 50 degrees F often seen when encapsulating with a thermally conductive plastic. A variety of factors will affect this thermal rise reduction, including component design, coil geometry, and the thermal pathway produced.
